Are you feeling adventurous for a two day, 25 mile hike? If so, hikers will meet at the Dyken Pond Center at 8 am on Saturday, September 25, where they will be transported to the starting point in Pittstown State Forest. Saturday’s hike will cover 10 miles and will end at Dyken Pond Center. Hikers will be treated to a BBQ dinner and can camp the night at the Center.

Junior Naturalist Programs For Kids
Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is offering weekend nature programs throughout the fall season. A Junior Naturalist Series will be held every Saturday morning from 10 am until 12 pm. Each week will cover a seasonal theme and include activities for children ages 3 through 10. On Sunday afternoons, a naturalist will offer fall foliage hikes for all ages from 1 to 3 pm. Pre-registration is encouraged to help with planning but is not required. Timothy Etman from Grafton was recently promoted to 4th Degree Black Belt in a ceremony held at the Stephentown Town Hall. Etman’s rank is recognized by the following organization: John Izzo’s Okinawan Karate, Stephentown Self Defense Systems and Green Island Academy of Martial Arts. Grafton FD And Ladies Auxiliary Breakfast
The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary will be holding an All You Can Eat Buffet Breakfast on Saturday, September 25, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85).
The menu includes Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk.
The cost is $8 per adult, $4 per kid 12 and under and free for kids 5 and under. We look forward to serving you!

Eberly Brothers At The Grafton Historical Society
The Grafton Historical Society’s September meeting will be held at the Grafton Town Hall on September 15 at 7 pm.
The Society will host Charles Filkens, Curator of the Lewis Miller Museum in the Town of Hoosick. Filkens will present a DVD video program on the Eberly Brothers, big band era singers who sang with the Glen Miller Orchestra and the Dorsey Brothers and who hailed from Hoosick Falls.
