The Third Annual Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza is a little over a month away and teams are already preparing for the exciting Punkin’ Chunkin’ competition. Last year five teams participated and the competition was intense. The crowd loved the spectacle and cheered wildly when the event was won on the final shot. Organizers are hoping the excitement was contagious and even more teams join the fun this year.

Hooisck Falls Thrift Store Extra Hours
The local Thrift Store will be open special hours on Saturday, August 27, during the First Annual Hoosick Hometown Days. The store will be staffed by local Girl Scouts and open from 10 am to noon.

Ondawa-Cambridge Chapter, DAR, Luncheon Meeting
On Friday, September 2, at noon, the Ondawa-Cambridge Chapter, DAR, will gather for the first time this year at the Cambridge Hotel for a luncheon meeting. The program will be presented by Barbara Green, Recording Secretary of the Chapter, who will give a report on her attendance at the Continental Congress National Conference held in Washington, D.C. this past June.

Water And Paving At The Village Board Meeting

At the Tuesday, August 9, regular meeting of the Hoosick Falls Village Board Mayor Matt Monahan said the Village will be reading water meters between August 19 and 22. He expects bills will be sent to residents by September 9 at the very latest. These will be the first bills Village residents will receive that reflect the amount of water households actually use.

Rensselaer County Legislature – Hoosick Falls Property Turned Over To Neighbor

At its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 9, the Rensselaer County Legislature turned over the property at 43-45 Center Street in the Village of Hoosick Falls to Thomas P. The Eagle rank was first awarded in 1912 and represents a ten year commitment on the part of the Scout.
