To the Editor:
After months of investigation and fact finding about the Hoosick Falls Armory I am compelled to bring forth my finds and concerns.
As you [the public] know, a concerned group of Town residents have signed their 300 plus names on a form stating they want the Town offices to stay in the Armory. Letter To The Editor – Wake Up Hoosick!

To the Editor:
The Councilman’s [Patire] opinions may not be based on facts. Is anybody really buying Bruce Patire’s story that he is acting in the best interest of the taxpayers? It seems Mr. Patire left something out of his letter to the Editor. (The letter appeared in area newspapers earlier this week.) He mentioned that he attended a [Town] Board meeting but failed to mention that he (after he was elected to the Board) explained why he thought the best option for the Town was to have the Town purchase the Patire used car dealership on Main Street in Hoosick Falls.

The Hoosick Falls Soccer Club Buy A Brick Program

The Hoosick Falls Soccer Club is proud to announce the Memorial Garden, Buy A Brick Program! The Hoosick Falls Soccer Club is in the process of gathering ideas for a “Yellow Brick Road” that will be placed by the Hos-Cot Pavilion on South Street in Hoosick and lead to the flagpole and the Decatur Memorial Bench near the Delurey Championship Field. Hoosick Cemetery 2012 Spring Clean-up

Notice is hereby given by order of the Trustees of the Hoosick Cemetery Association that seasonal and unsightly decorations should be removed from all lots on or before April 7. Please take all refuse with you. Do not dump debris over the fence or leave it on Cemetery grounds.

ERC Warehouse Looking For New Location

The Eastern Rensselaer County (ERC) Community Warehouse located on Route 22 in Hoosick, just outside Hoosick Falls, is looking for a new location somewhere within the Villages and Towns of the ERC Solid Waste Management Authority. One requirement is that the new location be on a main thoroughfare, as it is now. Last week Warehouse director Matt Curley said the Warehouse, a not-for-profit, is not doing well at the moment. And ‘Twas A Glorious St. Patrick’s Day In Hoosick Falls

Never in the 21 years of the Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade has there been such a glorious day as this past Saturday, March 17. The sky was bright blue; the sun was warm, and the temperature hovered near 70 degrees. It was a far cry from years past when minuscule crowds stood freezing on snow covered streets. Hoosick Planning Board Action – Development To Begin At Baker’s Nursery

Developer Ken Brownell appeared before the Planning Board at its regular meeting on Monday, March 19. He is planning to subdivide the Baker’s Nursery property on Route 22. One parcel will contain a general merchandise store, Family Dollar. He will complete a subdivision application and come before the Board again at its April 16 meeting.

Hoosick Grange News

The Photography Contest was held at Hoosick Grange on March 14. Martha Babbitt came in first in all three categories. After the contest the business meeting was held with Master David Cornell presiding. We draped the Charter for Charles Cornell. We still had a number of Grangers that were unable to attend, so we didn’t have degrees.
