Congressman Murphy Comes To Petersburgh

Congressman Scott Murphy held a Town Hall meeting on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, in Petersburgh. It was supposed to start at 11:30 am, but the Congressman had a larger than expected turnout at his first event of the day in Clifton Park, so he arrived at 11:55 and stayed until about 1:30. HFCS Football Field To Be Renamed

9/11/2001 will be remembered and the HFCS football field will be renamed during brief ceremonies before Friday night’s first home football game of the season against Hoosic Valley that begins at 7 pm.
Three months ago the School Board voted to change Panther Field to the Ken Baker Field. Coach Baker was loved and respected by his players, his students and his community. He died in early January 2008 at age 70 while playing basketball.

On Tuesday evening the Rensselaer County Legislature passed resolutions recognizing the milestones, honoring the achievements and commending the services of a town, a team, an individual and the agencies of eastern Rensselaer County from south to north and in between.

Petersburgh Has New Ambulance

The Petersburgh Ambulance Squad picked up its new ambulance from Cromwell Emergency Vehicles in Clifton Park on Friday, September 4, and drove it to Petersburgh. The lettering was put on it on Friday afternoon, and Adam Griswold was putting decals on it when we stopped by to take a picture.

Eleanor Krogh Calhoun of Hoosick Falls was recognized for 40 years of membership in the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) at a ceremony held on September 4 at the Cambridge Hotel.

The New Lebanon Farmland Conservation Project Needs To Raise $171,000
