NYS State Police news release
On January 8 the NYS Police in Brunswick executed a search warrant at a residence located on Telford Road in the Town of Hoosick, as a result of an ongoing investigation into several burglaries that had occurred in the area. As a result, police seized the apparent proceeds of several reported burglaries.

If Thursday night’s Berlin Town Board meeting is any indication, the construction of cell towers in Berlin, especially the one proposed on a service road on Cherry Plain Hill Road in Cherry Plain is going to meet some concerted opposition.

Volunteer fire fighters often have no idea what they will find when the respond to a call. This was well illustrated by North Hoosick Fire Department Chief Alan Bornt when he chose to give his annual report through a large screen presentation. The presentation showed cars on their sides, upside down, against trees and in buildings. There was even a trapped dog rescue. Weather conditions have finally cooperated and the Reynolds-Gilchrest Skating Rink is opened for the season. Registration for skating and hockey lessons offered by Hoosick Friends of Skating will be held on Saturday, January 17, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Rink. To register, you must be at least five years of age.

Pearl Koch, 82, is the most notorious volunteer of the Cafe. She serves up more than just coffee and the awesome baked goodies. How much is a good laugh worth? Priceless.
