Grafton Planning Board Action – Last Complete Survey In 1794

There were no public hearings scheduled before the regular Grafton Planning Board on Monday, December 17, so after the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call and the acceptance of the minutes of the previous meeting, the Board moved immediately to the subdivision application of Wes Vars. Vars wants to sell to his son Joe a five acre parcel from his 96 or so acres at the top of the hill on Snyder Road.

Hoosick Planning Board Action – December 2012

After the Pledge of Allegiance at the Planning Board meeting on Monday, December 17, Chairman Jim Dunigan asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of those lost in the tragedy of Newtown, CT. He also commented on the noise overhead as painting was underway in the building.
Planning Board Attorney Denis King told the Board he had received a letter from Michael Cusack of Verizon Wireless stating that engineer Russ Reeves had been hired to review the Verizon cell tower plans. 2012 In Hoosick: A Look Back

The biggest topic of the year in the Town and Village was the Armory. The Town Board was in a quandary as to whether to purchase the building for use as the Town Hall or not. A Save the Armory Committee threw themselves into gathering information to justify making the building the Town Hall and adding uses to the building to make it feasible. Panther Bowling Round Up

The Hoosick Falls bowling team won a hard fought close match against Northern Division power house Fort Edward by the score of 3-1 on Thursday, December 13.  After winning the first game by 111 pins, Hoosick Falls lost the second game by 32 pins and then won the third game by 27 pins to give them the point for match total.  Hoosick Falls had total pins of 3,729, which is their high total of the season, to Fort Edward’s total pins of 3,623.  Hoosick Falls now has a record of 23-1 and Fort Edward has a record of 21-3.

Panther Varsity Hoopsters Shut Down WASAREN Leading Scorer

Coach Mike Lilac Jr. and the boys Varsity Basketball team, tied for fourth with Tamarac in the WASAREN League, hosted Granville, who are in a three way tie for last. The plan was simple; to add to their win column they needed to play the Horde hard and find a way to shut down Jared Beattie. Beattie, the Horde’s scoring machine, leads the WASAREN League with a 27.8 point per game average; he had a season low of 23 against Hoosic Valley Wednesday night. Levi Brewster and Beattie went up for the tip, with Brewster edging out Beattie.

Hoosick Falls JV Basketball Keeps On Winning

The HFCS JV basketball team, coached by Chris Fleming, was back home Friday night hosting the Granville Horde in front of a smaller than usual crowd. But the Panthers, not willing to disappoint, were ready to put on a show, and Jake Nolan was the entertainment for the first quarter. The sophomore with 71% shooting accuracy put 8 of the first quarter’s 12 points on the board to the Horde’s 6.
