St. Mary’s Academy Cow Plop And Car Show

October 12, 2012 By eastwickpress

by Pat Hayes and Bea Peterson
It was cool and overcast Sunday, October 7, for the Annual St. Mary’s Academy Cow Plop and Car Show at the Town of Hoosick Athletic Fields. Youngsters were oblivious to the weather as they enjoyed hay rides, bouncy bounce, pumpkin painting, games and laser tag from morning to afternoon. There was plenty of food for everyone, plus raffles, a silent auction, politicians and, of course, the main event – the Cow Plop.

Others placed names on luminaries commemorating lost friends or family. The Immaculate Conception Church bell tolled as the walk began down Main Street to John Street, then Church Street to the point and back up Main Street. [Read more…] about Suicide Prevention Walk

Pumpkinpalooza Day In Hoosick Falls

October 5, 2012 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
Hoosick Falls was jumping Saturday, September 29. It was Pumpkinpalooza Day! The weather wasn’t perfect, and a misty rain dampened the air at times. Whatever, everyone appeared to have a good time. The events were endless and it was often difficult to decide to watch the ones in Wood Park or the ones in the Town Park. Many folks traveled from one place to the other. If they didn’t want to walk, they could take the tractor drawn hay wagon or the horse drawn wagon. Either one was fun!
