Mechanicville/Hoosick Falls – Mary Carelli Alonzo, 89, of Viall Avenue, Mechanicville, NY, died early Thursday morning, May 17, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY, after a brief illness. Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, on July 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lena Liporace Carelli. Mary, along with her husband of almost 72 years John A. Hoosic River Riverfest Is On May 26
Riverfest, the annual celebration of the Hoosic River sponsored by the Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA), will be held at Cole Field on the Williams College campus from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, May 26. Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the gate per person. Children 10 and under will be admitted free.

Hoosick Board Passes Resolution Supporting HAYC3 Takeover Of Armory

It took less than 10 minutes for the Hoosick Town Board to pass a resolution supporting takeover of the Armory by the Hoosick Area Youth Center And Community Coalition (HAYC3). The special meeting was held at 7 pm on May 8. It was open to the public, but there was to be no public comment. Several members of the HAYC3 Board were in attendance.
