Plans For Dougherty’s Corner In Hoosick Falls

On Tuesday, July 12, following the Village Board meeting, Alex Koks will meet with the Village Zoning Board to review changes in his original plan for the property at the corner of Main and John Streets. The changes he would like to make are for the first floor of the planned Bed and Breakfast and restaurant. He would like to decrease the size of the restaurant to serve 24 people. In the remainder of the first floor he would like to construct an apartment for the manager of the B&B and a handicapped accessible guest room.

Reynolds Foundation Distributes Funds

Checks from the Edith Craig Reynolds Foundation were given to local organizations in the Town of Hoosick on June 23 at 7 pm at the Town of Hoosick Historical Association.
The checks were from the Rev. Edith Craig Reynolds Residual Fund administered by Key Bank Trust and channeled through the Reynolds Foundation.

Hoosick All Star Baseball Weekend

All weekend long, June 25 and 26, “Play Ball” could be heard around the diamonds at the Town of Hoosick fields on Waterworks Road.

The League’s Second Annual All Star baseball tournament for the eight and under age group had four teams competing last year and eight this year. The teams hailed from Williamstown, MA, Bennington and Pownal, VT, and Brunswick, Cambridge, Greenwich, Halfmoon and Hoosick Falls.
Defending Champions Bennington won again this year defeating Greenwich in the finals. Halfmoon beat Hoosick Falls in the Consolation game.

Hoosick Falls Health Center Garden Tour

Hoosick Falls Community Band Concerts Begin

The Hoosick Falls Community Band under the direction of Bill Gaillard will begin its summer concert series in Wood Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 6, at 7:30 pm.
Concerts will be held on Wednesday evenings until August 24. In the event of rain, the program for that evening is cancelled. Concerts are played from 7:30 until 9 pm each evening with music from marches, pop tunes, Broadway Show medleys and overtures.

North Hoosick Fire Department Kids Pool Dance

The North Hoosick Fire Department will be holding its 7th Annual kids pool dance at the Town of Hoosick Community Pool on Barton Avenue in Hoosick Falls on Friday, July 8. Students aged 9 to 15 in area schools are invited to attend the festivities, which will begin at 7 pm. Students will be able to swim until dark and then dance to music until 10:30 pm. Tickets for the dance can be |purchased at the door on the day of the event. A rain date of Friday, July 15, has been set in case of inclement weather. Parents must sign their child out after the dance.
