Food For Fines At The New Lebanon Library
Put your library fines to work for the community. This year National Library Week is April 12-17. During this time, the New Lebanon Library will exchange food for fines. Fines for overdue materials, regardless of the amount, will be cleared from your record at a rate of one fine for one food item donated. Only overdue items – not lost or damaged items – are eligible for the exchange.

Can The Union Free School Building In New Lebanon Be Saved?

The Lebanon Valley Historical Society (LVHS) and Union Free School Preservation Committee (UFSPC) have until June 2 to develop a plan to preserve the Union Free School building. In January, the New Lebanon Board of Education voted to postpone until June any decision on the building’s fate. Nathanael, age 8 is a third-grader at Walter B. Howard Elementary School. He is enjoying Social Studies this year because his class gets to “travel” to different countries and then have a “feast” with foods from each country. His hobbies include building things with Legos and K’nex, playing Wii, computer and DSi games, drawing and reading. The book he chose to read to Simon is about Jack Russell: Dog Detective.

Last Chance To Register For Shatford Little League
Shatford Little League will be conducting its final registration for the 2010 season Saturday, March 20, from 10 am to noon at the Shatford Park Little League field in New Lebanon. Children living in Eastern Rensselaer and Columbia Counties who will be between the ages of 5 and 14 as of May 1 are eligible to play.
