The Walter A. Wood High School Alumni Association will hold its annual dinner on Saturday, June 12, at the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps building on Parker Road, Pittstown off Route 7. The Hoosick Falls Central School PTA will host a Scholastic Book Fair and ice cream social on June 2 from 6 to 8 pm in the elementary school cafeteria. The annual event is intended to increase literacy among students and raise funds to purchase books for the elementary school library. Carwash To Raise Money For The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life
The members of Team Hathaway’s Electric of the Bennington County Relay for Life will be sponsoring a car wash for $ 5 per vehicle at the Stewart’s Store in Hoosick at the intersection of Rtes. 7 and 22 on Saturday, May 29, from 9 am to 1 pm. They will also be selling handmade blue bird houses made by Richard Okerman.

HACA Receives Appreciation Award

HACA Volunteer Coordinator Dianne Hosterman and HACA itself received a very pleasant surprise at their Volunteer Appreciation Brunch on Saturday, May 15. Support Needed For Veterans Memorial Wall
The Hoosick Falls Veterans Memorial Wall Committee announced recently that the second phase to raise funds for completion of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Wood Park is now underway.
The projected cost for the Wall is $45,000. The first phase of the project has been completed at a cost of $10,000 which was funded by donations and in-kind services. Efforts are now underway to raise the remaining $35,000 which will cover the cost of six bronze plaques listing the names of all Hoosick area Veterans, installation and landscaping. The annual Hoosick Townwide Tag Sale will be held on Saturday, May 29, in and around the Village of Hoosick Falls. This year’s event will include a Consignment & Tag Sale to benefit the Hoosick Area Youth Center & Community Coalition (HAYC3) at 115 Church Street in Hoosick Falls.
