New Drinking Water Source Proposed For Village

April 21, 2021 is a date that will go into the record books of the Village of Hoosick Falls.
It is the day the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced its preliminary choice for a new source of drinking water for the Village. It was nearly six years ago when it was discovered that the Village’s Water supply was contaminated with PFOA, a possible carcinogen to humans, and has been linked to other diseases involving the kidneys, liver, respiratory problems, infectious and neurological complications (especially in children) and Type 2 diabetes. Rensselaer County to Hold Vaccination Clinic at Stephentown Fire Hall on April 13
Rensselaer County will hold a pop-up vaccination clinic at the Stephentown Fire Hall next Tuesday, April 13, County Executive Steve McLaughlin, Public Health Director Mary Fran Wachunas and members of the County Legislature announced today.
